About Chasing Vistas

Hey there! My name is Nicole, and my husband Patrick and I are the couple behind Chasing Vistas.

My own personal love for travel started in 2016 when I spent a semester abroad in Malaga, Spain. I lived with a local family (who has stayed very dear to us) and I became fully immersed in the Spanish culture. I was easily infatuated. Patrick flew in from Philly to visit, and despite both being broke college students, we managed to explore 5 different Spanish cities in only 7 days during his stay. And so - the travel bug had officially been caught.

After college, my yet-to-be-full time-employed friends and I set out on a post-grad Europe trip where we hit 7 different countries in 21 days carrying only a backpack (not sure how we managed that, but we did). In my eyes, this trip solidified the fact that you didn't need to have a fortune to experience new and unfamiliar places.

I believe Patrick finally got the travel itch after our 2022 honeymoon in Hawaii where the hiking and views were INSANE. We both still agree that our favorite and most breathtaking moment together was watching the sunrise over the Haleakalā Volcano in Maui.

Ever since, we've been in pursuit of more breathtaking moments and stunning views around the world, hence our blog's name Chasing Vistas. From old European city outlooks to the tallest points of US National Parks - follow along as we venture out to find the world's most astounding vistas (while eating amazing food and finding really good coffee in the process).
